Simplisio Ai Usage Policies
We’ve designed these usage policies to be clear and to help you understand how our services should be used. We aim for our tools to be used safely and responsibly, while giving you significant control. By using Simplisio Ai services, you agree to these policies.
Updates to these policies will be posted on our website, and for significant changes, we may notify users via email or in-app notifications.
We have established universal policies applicable to all our services. For certain features that allow you to create customized experiences for yourself or others, additional specific policies may apply (see below). Violating our policies could lead to actions against your account, which may include warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, or suspension or termination of your account.
We work with our underlying AI technology providers and configure our services to promote safety. This includes utilizing models that are trained to refuse harmful instructions and to reduce the generation of harmful content. We believe that learning from real-world use is important for the ongoing development of safe AI systems. While we cannot predict every possible use or misuse of our technology, we proactively monitor for new abuse trends within our services. Our policies will evolve based on these learnings.
Universal Policies
To encourage innovation and creativity, we want you to have flexibility in using our services, provided you comply with the law and do not cause harm. When using any Simplisio Ai service, these rules apply:
- Comply with Applicable Laws. You must use our services in accordance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations. For example, do not:
- Compromise the privacy of others (e.g., unlawful collection or processing of personal data).
- Engage in regulated activities (e.g., financial services, healthcare) without adhering to all applicable laws and licensing requirements for those activities.
- Promote or engage in any illegal activity. This includes, but is not limited to, the exploitation or harm of children, and the development, distribution, or promotion of illegal substances, goods, or services.
- Use subliminal, manipulative, or deceptive techniques that distort a person’s behavior in a way that prevents them from making an informed decision and is likely to cause them or another person significant harm.
- Exploit vulnerabilities related to age, disability, or socio-economic circumstances to distort behavior in a way likely to cause significant harm.
- Create or expand facial recognition databases without the explicit, informed consent of the individuals concerned or other legitimate legal basis.
- Conduct real-time remote biometric identification of individuals in publicly accessible spaces for law enforcement purposes, unless strictly necessary and authorized by EU or Member State law.
- Evaluate or classify individuals based on their social behavior or personal characteristics (social scoring) leading to detrimental or unfavorable treatment.
- Assess the risk of an individual committing a criminal offense based solely on profiling or assessing their personality traits, unless ancillary to human assessment based on objective facts and authorized by law.
- Infer an individual’s emotions in workplace or educational settings, except when necessary for medical or safety reasons (e.g., monitoring pilot fatigue for aviation safety).
- Categorize individuals using biometric data to deduce or infer sensitive attributes such as race, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, health status, or sexual orientation, except with explicit consent or as permitted by law for substantial public interest.
- Do Not Harm Yourself or Others. Do not use our services to:
- Promote, facilitate, or enable access to content or activities that encourage or provide instructions for suicide or self-harm.
- Develop, design, or facilitate the use of weapons, explosives, or other harmful devices.
- Cause or facilitate physical injury to others or damage to property.
- Engage in unauthorized activities that violate the security of any service, system, or network.
- Do Not Repurpose or Distribute Output to Harm Others. Do not share or use output from our services to:
- Defraud, scam, or spam others.
- Generate or disseminate misleading information intended to deceive or manipulate.
- Bully, harass, or defame individuals or groups.
- Discriminate against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (e.g., race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age).
- Generate or distribute content that sexualizes children or depicts them in a harmful manner.
- Promote violence, hatred, or the suffering of others.
- Respect Our Safeguards. Do not attempt to circumvent safeguards or safety mitigations embedded in our services, unless explicitly permitted by Simplisio Ai for specific, approved research or testing purposes.
- Reporting Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We are committed to child safety. Apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) encountered on our services will be reported to the relevant Romanian authorities or appropriate law enforcement agencies in accordance with applicable EU and Romanian law.
Building Custom Experiences with Simplisio Ai
If you use Simplisio Ai’s Custom Chatbots to create experiences for yourself or others, the following service-specific policies apply in addition to our Universal Policies. Users of any custom experiences you build are also subject to Simplisio Ai’s general Terms and Policies.
- Do Not Compromise the Privacy of Others. This includes:
- Collecting, processing, disclosing, inferring, or generating personal data without complying with applicable legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, national data protection laws).
- Soliciting or collecting sensitive identifiers, security information, or their equivalents, such as full payment card information, government identification numbers (e.g., CNP, passport numbers), API keys, or passwords through your custom experience.
- Using biometric identification systems for identification or assessment, including facial recognition, without a clear legal basis and appropriate safeguards.
- Facilitating spyware, unauthorized communications surveillance, or other forms of unauthorized monitoring of individuals.
- Do Not Perform or Facilitate Activities That May Significantly Affect Safety, Wellbeing, or Rights. This includes:
- Taking unauthorized actions on behalf of users without their explicit consent.
- Providing tailored legal, medical/health, or financial advice that should only be given by a qualified professional. Outputs should not be presented as substitutes for professional advice.
- Making fully automated decisions in domains that significantly affect an individual’s fundamental rights or well-being (e.g., law enforcement, migration control, management of critical infrastructure, safety components of products, access to essential public or private services, credit scoring, employment, housing, education, social benefits, or insurance eligibility) without appropriate human oversight and safeguards.
- Facilitating real money gambling or predatory lending services (e.g., payday loans with excessively high interest rates).
- Engaging in political campaigning or lobbying that involves generating campaign materials personalized to or targeted at specific demographics in a deceptive or manipulative way.
- Deterring people from participation in democratic processes, such as by misrepresenting voting procedures, qualifications, or discouraging voting.
- Do Not Misinform, Misrepresent, or Mislead Others. This includes:
- Generating or promoting disinformation, misinformation, or inauthentic online engagement (e.g., fake comments, reviews).
- Impersonating another individual or organization without their consent or legal right.
- Engaging in or promoting academic dishonesty (e.g., generating content to be submitted as a student’s original work).
- Using content from third parties (e.g., text, images, data) within your custom experience without having the necessary permissions or rights.
- Misrepresenting or misleading others about the purpose, capabilities, or limitations of your custom experience.
- Do Not Build Tools Inappropriate for Minors. This includes:
- Generating or promoting sexually explicit or suggestive content, unless created for legitimate scientific, artistic, or educational purposes with appropriate context and age-gating if applicable.
- Do not build custom experiences that primarily target users under 13 years of age.
Simplisio Ai may use a combination of automated systems, human review, and user reports to find and assess custom experiences created with the Custom Chatbots that potentially violate our policies. Violations can lead to actions against the content or your account, such as warnings, sharing restrictions, suspension or termination of access to the feature, or termination of your Simplisio Ai account.
